1. Purpose and scope
BullyAlert provides a non-emergency pathway for students and families to share school-safety concerns and for authorized school teams to organize review and follow-through. These Terms cover the public website and the supported BullyAlert reporting, Staff and mobile experiences made available to your school. Access to a feature does not guarantee that the feature is enabled on every device or in every school.
An applicable written school agreement governs the school's purchased service, data instructions and agreed service levels. These public Terms do not amend that agreement or reduce rights that law does not allow to be waived. If you act for a school, you must have authority for the actions you take. A child’s use does not constitute blanket contractual or parental consent for data processing.
2. Not an emergency service
Do not wait for BullyAlert if someone is in immediate danger. Contact a trusted adult or local emergency services; in the United States, call 911. Reports, alerts and contact emails are not guaranteed to be monitored continuously or answered immediately. BullyAlert is not an emergency dispatch service, a medical service or a substitute for a school's safeguarding obligations.
Schools and responsible adults must maintain their own response procedures and escalation arrangements. BullyAlert does not make disciplinary decisions, determine guilt or guarantee an investigation outcome.
3. Authorized access and shared devices
Use only the school access pathway and role assigned to you. Staff permissions are server-authorized and limited to the assigned school, grade or other approved scope. A school code is not permission to inspect another user's private activity. Parent/Caregiver reporting is separate from Student reporting and does not open a child's anonymous history or other families' reports.
Schools must administer their issued access permissions and notify the appropriate operator when access should change. The operator remains responsible for its own security, privacy and legal duties. Do not share Staff credentials, circumvent checks or impersonate another person. Sign out after using a shared device and protect any downloaded document or screenshot outside the application.
4. Good-faith reports and evidence
Describe what you experienced or observed as accurately as you can. It is acceptable to say that you are uncertain, could not verify something or did not observe an incident. A report that later cannot be corroborated is not, for that reason alone, malicious or false.
Do not knowingly fabricate a report, misrepresent evidence or use the service to retaliate. Include only information needed to explain the concern. Where the supported experience permits an optional name or attachment, provide it only if you choose and are entitled to share it. Do not upload unlawful material or unnecessary highly sensitive information. Do not put yourself or another person at risk to collect evidence.
An allegation is not a finding. Schools remain responsible for appropriate review, confidentiality, response and fair process. Authorized review, dismissal, resolution and reopening must follow the school's process and the service's permitted controls.
5. Location Checks and notifications
Location Checks, where enabled, ask eligible students for neutral observations. They do not ask students to investigate, identify a reporter or confront another person. “Nothing observed” does not automatically dismiss or resolve a concern.
Notifications require supported devices, school activation and user permission. Generic messages return authorized users to protected details. Delivery may be delayed, unavailable or duplicated by a device/provider outside the application's control; the service's delivery controls are not a guarantee of receipt or response. Do not rely solely on a push notification for urgent action. Parent/Caregiver access does not confer Staff alerts or Student automatic prompts.
You may withdraw notification permission through available app/browser controls or device settings. This does not delete a report or erase a notification already shown on a device.
6. Learning, recognition and future features
Available learning modules provide educational reading and practice. Role-specific Staff completion records reflect participation in the authored activity, not professional certification, legal compliance certification, continuing-education credit, a personnel determination or proof that a real incident has been handled correctly. Practice answers must not include identifiable student incidents.
Content and delivery modes may differ by platform and release. Recorded narration and other unfinished features are not promised merely because a curriculum or website describes a roadmap. Courage recognition or credential issuance is subject to the actual available feature and its separate conditions. These Terms do not authorize a wallet transaction, fee, investment, mint or public blockchain disclosure. No monetary value, return or transferability is promised.
7. Content rights and permitted processing
You retain any rights you have in the material you submit. You permit the operator to process, store and display that material only as needed to provide the authorized school workflow, protect the service, follow lawful school instructions and meet applicable legal obligations. This is not a license to publicly market private reports, sell them or use identifiable content to train general-purpose AI models. School and third-party rights remain applicable.
BullyAlert branding, software and learning materials are owned by Sentinel Beacon Labs, Corp. or its licensors, as applicable. You may use them through the authorized service. Do not redistribute confidential records or copy protected content outside what the school agreement or law permits. A permitted export is not authorization to share it publicly.
8. Prohibited use and protective action
The Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these Terms. Prohibited conduct includes harassment, knowingly false reports, attempts to identify anonymous reporters, unauthorized access, malware, bypassing scope controls and misuse of private evidence.
When necessary to address a substantiated access or security problem, we may limit the affected function or access, consistent with law and the applicable school agreement. Where feasible and appropriate, we explain the reason and a review path; security measures must not disclose protected information. Good-faith reporting, uncertainty and lawful records requests must not be punished merely because they are inconvenient. School disciplinary or employment decisions remain with the responsible institution under its own lawful process; these Terms do not impose automatic punishments.
9. Privacy, records and deletion
The Privacy Policy describes information practices, limitations and rights procedures. The Account and data deletion page explains how to request review, correction or deletion. An anonymous report may not be linkable to a named account; sign-out or uninstalling the app does not erase server records.
School records may be subject to a documented lawful retention requirement. A school preference alone does not override mandatory privacy rights. Neither these Terms nor a privacy notice is proof of FERPA, COPPA, SOPIPA, CCPA or other certification. Required consent and contractual controls must be implemented separately.
10. External services and availability
The site may link to external booking services or app stores. Their own terms and privacy practices apply to activity on those services. A link is not a promise that their services are available in every country or device environment.
We may maintain, repair or change the service, subject to applicable law and any agreed school commitments. No uninterrupted access, universal compatibility, specified response time or particular safety outcome is guaranteed by these public Terms. Any separate written service commitment remains controlling for its covered scope.
11. Warranties, liability and disputes
To the extent permitted by law and not overridden by an applicable written agreement, the service is provided without a promise that it will be error-free, continuously available or suitable for every particular purpose. Nothing here excludes non-waivable statutory rights, excuses duties that cannot be disclaimed, or overrides liability allocated in an executed school agreement.
For service concerns, first contact jrod@bullyalert.app. Privacy requests go to privacy@bullyalert.app. This contact process does not delay an applicable legal deadline or require anyone to waive a right to use another lawful remedy.
12. Changes
We will date approved changes and provide any material-change notice required by law or an applicable school agreement. Changes do not retroactively authorize a new use of personal information or alter a school agreement without its required process. If access ends, retained records remain governed by the applicable privacy, deletion and lawful retention rules.
